I came back yesterday from Norwich with my bag full of glorious happiness.
It's nice for ourselves also, but especially to customers to demonstrates the engagement and the continuing willingness of being at the forefront of the industry latest techniques, especially when the tutors are well established and mush experienced photographers as Brian Barrett (ABIPP, AMPA, Cr.GWP) and Andrew Coe (ABIPP, AMPA, Cr.GWPP).
This second professional photography course in Portrait Photography I just completed, adds up to the previous one I did in July last year, in Wedding Photography, at the Norwich School of Photography, run by Barrett & Coe. I completed the course and achieved the title through a complex multi-task examination day with the highest score.
I'm heading now to the SWPP (Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers) Qualifications.

SWPP 2010 Convention
The SWPP (Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers) 2010 Convention, which I attended last week, was an excellent source of inspiration and motivation, plus the opportunity to see the worlds leading wedding photographer in action.
And a couple of togs' mates met at one of my photography courses done in the past, so it was a nice chance to catch up with the latest on the market and have some jokes about our work and not only that.
Great the seminar I attended of Mark Cleghorn, about his creativity of using off-camera flash, which I immediately practised last Sunday during my Midlands Strobists shooting group at Charlie's "thestudiofactory" - and which I already know I'd use in my new creative portraits.
Stunning the new and unique wedding poses proposed in the seminar by Doug Gordon: we must admit, Americans aren't afraid of the change - as far as your customer agrees wit that, I'd add (in the picture Doug was showing some of his innovative poses).

Modelling
With my Midlands Strobist group from Flickr, we all went on last Sunday to Charlie's fab studio in a magnificent 1920 building, which is today still a working factory but quite restructured in terms of resources. The rooms, staircases, production ambience, are all the original feature as they were during the 'golden years' of big success of the company, converted recently, but without a massive remake, in an inspiring, endless art photographic studio.
So, if you are interested in my works, keep an eye on both!
A mix of photographers (alias "togs") and models (alias "mua"), we met united by the same interest to have an enjoyable day of shooting. From one side, to experience the modelling art of fashion, glamour and boudoir/semi-nude photography styles, from the other, building and empowering the existing professional portfolio. An interest always fed by a basic friendship relationship, which helps enormously, especially photographers, to get out from that isolation tipycal of our job.
I'm very happy and excited of the shooting day and look forward to send through some images to the MUA to see what they think about it.
I will then soon publish some work done, either on this blog and on my Flickr photostream. So, if you are interested in my works, keep an eye on both!

Happy 2010 !
I've recently been back from my native country (Italy) where the weather's been everything but nice and warm (would you believe it, to find some sunshine I had to come back to UK???), and with my big surprise I found the same temperature and scenery I left before leaving for the Christmas break.
Well, from a photographer point of view - and perhaps a childshish mind like mine - that's a lot of fun and great opps tu shoot great landscapes and macros, just to walk around or take the car and go somewhere a bit spectacular and that's it. It's all in a beautiful picture! (Keep checking on my Flickr and Facebook Galleries for some stunning images...).
Unfortunately it's not all fun. The country has been immobilized by this natural phenomenon which didn't happen so aggressively - if I can use this word - since the early '60s.
I only hope it'll end soon for all of you being in a great discomfort (lack of gas, electricity, goods, mobility, schools closures, etc.).
And don't forget to keep me posted and leave your comments on the matter, I'd like to share with you any pictures you've taken of the snow, wherever you are!
